The Renfrew County Law Association is pleased to offer the F. Allan Huckabone Memorial Scholarship to promote future law school graduates who are interested in returning to the County of Renfrew to pursue their legal practices. A scholarship of up to $1000 may be awarded each year to eligible applicants.

Allan Huckabone Memorial Scholarship

Eligibility:
  1. Applicants must be law students enrolled in a common law program
  2. Applicants must state what connection they have to the County of Renfrew and that they intend to return to the County of Renfrew to practice law.
  3. Applicants must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada.
  4. Applicants must demonstrate an academic performance of 65% or higher.
5. Consideration in any given year may include but is not necessarily or solely dependent upon academic standing, financial need, a record of community service within Renfrew County or a demonstrated commitment to the citizens of Renfrew County.

To be considered for this scholarship, applicants must submit a completed application and the following additional documents:

  • Confirmation of enrollment in a common law program offered by a University in Canada approved by the Law Society of Ontario.
  • A cover letter addressing how you meet the eligibility requirements of the scholarship.
  • In Microsoft Word or PDF document using 400-words stating your connection or desire to practice law in the County of Renfrew.
  • A resume or curriculum vitae.
  • Most recent academic transcript.

Completed applications must be received by the Renfrew County Law Association by 12:00 noon Tuesday, December 31, 2024. Only successful applicants will be notified.
